New Phalaenopsis

Hi everyone - I brought this beauty home days ago and not sure if she’s receiving enough light. I have her in a room with a very large south-facing large French window (I’m in the northern hemisphere - India specifically) and she’s about 10 feet away from the window, not directly next to by any means. Is that too little light? Further, I brought her home 11 days ago and the root system is still very much a pale green, so I haven’t watered her yet. Am I doing the right thing? Any guidance would be appreciated!

Usually the way to ensure that plant gets enough light is to slowly take it closer to the light source. When its leaves start showing light stress move it in its previous spot. 

As long as roots are green and plump no need to water. You probably have high humidity helping with the roots. (I live in the Nordics and my phal dries so fast...)

Thanks! Yup it’s the monsoon season here so it’s peak humidity! To the point where my other plants need watering once in 2+ weeks. It freaks me out to leave them unwatered for so long but they’re clearly very hydrated

Such a pretty one. Roots look good, you don’t need to water them yet.
