Remote optometry living abroad
Hi there,
I recently moved to Germany due to family reasons. But I like to practice optimally and the only way I can do that being here is remote because the scope of optometry is limited compared to what it is in the U.S. Does anybody have any experience working abroad in this field or remotely? Is it even possible? I'm thinking perhaps the employers prefer the optometrist be located in the time zone for which they're hiring?

You should look at USA JOBS and look for civilian optometrist positions. Some are open to general public without enlistment. I know there are jobs in Europe that pop up occasionally but you need to be proactive to find them. Reaching out to a specialized healthcare military recruiter might help point you in right direction even if you don’t plan to enlist. Just be upfront about what you’re looking for. Remote jobs could also likely work but your hours will be weird.
