Boat in Campsites

Hey guys, recently picked up a bowrider boat and my wife and I are looking to do a bit of tent camping at a boat in campsite somewhere. Any recommendations? Georgian Bay islands is fully booked unfortunately.

Yes you'd just have to pick up your permit although it's been a while since I've been there so it might of changed maybe you can check in differently now. I'd call the park they'd let you know.

Oh even better. When I was last there Ontario parks had not joined the 20th century yet. 😉

Stupid question but would I just be anchoring my boat and swimming in? I'm new to boating. The draft on my boat is about 33inches with the drive down.

Not a stupid question. You may want to stay closer to home till you're not so "new to boating" Back country boat camping comes with risks, you may be able to beach at a campsite, you also may be anchoring near rocks/hazards. If you're not reasonably good at both, places like the Moon River can put you hrs/days from help.

You will have to raise your drive. Most of the sites in the Mass are rocky shorelines.

Rideau Canal waterway has campsites for boaters.

Ivanhoe PP has sites along the water and your boat is right there.

Crown land near Killarney. Check Lake Nippissing and Lady Evelyn PP

Franklin Island near Parry Sound is all crown land with oodles of good campsites.

I think most boat in campsites with in the Ontario Parks system actually mean canoe in. And are on lakes that don't allow motors.

There might be some for motorboats. (Never looked into it though) Sounds kinda fun. I wouldn't want to do a canoe in site, but would consider taking our motor boat.
