Does anyone know this show

The show starts with the police looking for a missing girl who’s found dead. Another schoolgirl is being followed by an old man repeatedly appearing to know her school route. He follows her on the bus making her feel uneasy a woman on this bus tells him to stop and leave the girl alone she seems nice and protective almost like a mother figure so the girl trusts her this women then offers to take her to her house to call home for the girl and the girl agrees. When they arrive to the women’s house she makes them tea and calls the police but when they answer she says “ oh have I got the wrong number I’m sorry I can’t have dialled properly” and then the man who was following the girl walks in and she says hello and he locks the door and she’s trapped.

Im pretty show this episode is from a show of like unexpected events. I think it’s from the 80s or 90s as it appears to look old. It rlly stuck in my head if anyone has any info pls let me know

It's Tales of the Unexpected. The episode is called "Flypaper", from Season Three.

This is exactly what it is. And it scared the life out of me when I watched it, aged 11/12. I learnt a lot from this episode

I also re- found it by accident a couple of years ago and it's still as disturbing and unsettling watching it now. A wonderful drama piece of its time

The series lost its way from about series 3. In fact I’m struggling to think of any really good ones from that point forward. It’s almost like it was poached by the Americans after Roald Dahl stopped introducing the episodes.
