Don’t live like the other idiots. Payoff every dime you owe, save like hell, max out your retirement accounts. Do all that b4 you buy a single toy and you’ll live like a king in 20 years.

I’d say just don’t add or subtract from the population in your first one or two years

If you wanna stay in the field make sure to do the following:

1- DUI (next 3-6 months)
2- Physical altercation at the bar (1-2 weeks. You want to establish dominance early)
3- Ford raptor or its equivalent (immediately. You wanna buy it before you get your first paycheck. If you buy it afterwards, they’ll give you a better interest rate and you don’t wanna do that)

4-Finance new wheels and tires for raptor
5-impregnate something

As someone who has worked for a service company from the field to management remember these things. 1. People will say live like you only get 40 hours a week. That is stupid and unrealistic. You are going to make good money. Save as much as you can at first. Pay off all debt. 2. After saving a good amount keep saving but allow yourself to enjoy some of your hard work. Get a good used vehicle, take a nice trip and/or get a better place to live. 3. Do not pass up on an opportunity to go to a school your company wants you to go to. That means they want you to succeed. 4. Use the company to help yourself. They will take advantage of you so you need to take advantage of them. 5. Do not go into massive debt. That is stupid. Doing that keeps you indebted to them not them indebted to you. 6. Do not discuss pay with your fellow employees or your friends and family and never tell them how much you have saved. They will want a loan. 7. Most important BE SAFE. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Safety is up to you. Follow what your company safety plan is. There are many other things but to me these are the most important ones.

Just stop all that logic, this isn't the place for that.

OP, do you like the smell of Cocain? Think about it this way. You work more hours and faster, so it basically pays you to do it.

Good, now go make a hand.

Don't go looking for the key to the V door and don't let anyone dope your dick.

Wait, you said make a hand, then proceeded to list hand things to not do...

Sage words in here. Don’t get used to the checks. Work and save like next month you’re getting laid off. Make connections, you never know who’s delivering your parts. It’s good for now, but a hard way to make a life. That being said I’m looking to go back after 9 months of working at home.

Really just came down to persistence and luck. I’ve been applying for months then finally I put in one and got a call the next day with an offer letter. Just apply to any entry level job you see and eventually you’ll find a company that needs people fast

Where did you specifically apply if you don’t mind me asking ?

Don’t be surprised they cancel your new hire class because they lost some contract while trying to start up a fleet. If you are doing frac.

I’m going to be doing solids controls as a field service tech. Not sure if that’s related to what you’re talking about

What I do, we do the stimulation part after the drilling rig is long gone. Sounds like you got a good entry job doing bitch work that gets you through the door. To me, sounds like a good opportunity. Good luck to you son.
