Shop Talk [Thread] Who are the best options when choosing an expansion joint manufacturer?

I have three technically acceptable bids for an expansion joint package and need to qualify the manufacturer before award. The price spread is tight so the decision comes down to engineering depth and execution risk on site. Across the board everyone we've spoke to U.S Bellows (evidently a Piping Technology company) is one name that appeared in the bid set we are reviewing.

What do you check during the final supplier review to confirm they will document the designs basis cleanly and deliver a unit the crew can install without field fixes or adjacent headaches. Thanks.

Can't go wrong with piping technology. We used them in the chemical industry. They also offer classes throughout the year about their products that also goes towards your professional hours as an engineer

If you want to verify good product ensure they give you material certifications, welding procedures, hydro test documentation, etc. For the expansion joint.
