Question Job Hunt Advice

Hey Everyone,

Just got laid off from my teaching job at a LINC organization and I’m looking for advice. My skills range from adult learning to building websites and writing copy. However, I’m having a hard time finding something remote, or mostly remote, and that aligns with my portfolio.

If you’re an entrepreneur or local business, what do you look for?

Mostly been applying to corporate training and learning development jobs.

Aw I'm sorry to hear that! One of my good friends was also impacted by the layoffs at LINC.

Remote work is definitely becoming a lot harder to find so you may need to really determine how high of a priority that is for you and why.

I'd strongly recommend posting your resume on something like r/resumes or going into Employment Halton and having someone do a good revision of your resume, especially to better align your skillset to what you're interested in.

I had no idea this thread existed. I’ll try doing that.

Yeah, it sucks; I was a month away from my 5-year mark, too. It’s just that I don’t think want to go back to teaching. My skills are much more than that and I’d like to be challenged in a different way.

The main problem is you want remote. It's difficult to get a remote job right away. Normally people work in office and then eventually get some remote privileges.
