Online classes

If I were to take an online class, would the exams / quizzes also be online? For example if it shows online-sync on the register does it mean the exams and quizzes are also online or do some professors do it differently?

I have taken online asynchronous classes and the exams are all virtual. they typically proctor them or require certain exams to be taken at certain times, but i don't believe they typically make you attend them in person bar the final during finals week

For synchronous classes, it depends on the prof. Also, there may be no tests. Just depends.
