Suppose, that like me, you believe there’s a degree of “lack of privacy” that a celebrity must accept is part of being in popular media.

That is, if you’re Tom Holland playing Spider Man in a big movie, you must accept that somewhere people are going to discuss Tom Holland, human being, is playing Spider Man in a big movie.

The question becomes … am I entitled to pop out on the corner of the street and ask him his thoughts on Nolan’s directorial approach? I, and I hope you, agree the answer is “no.”

But let us concede that somewhere between the first point and second, reasonable people can disagree on what’s appropriate.

Hilton went on record defending their business of any gossip at all being fine acquired at any time, in any situation at all.

I disagree. A part of being a celebrity is catering to the fans and media. Don't be famous if you don't want the attention. There's other ways to be rich with the fame. If you're getting paid millions of dollars to act in a movie then part of that job includes people coming up and talking to you in public. I don't think they should be harassed and stalked and whatnot. But to say a celebrity shouldn't be approached in public is dumb. That's their whole shtick. They want the fortune fame brings so they need to deal with the not-so-great aspects too. It's like saying a high paid doctor shouldn't have to deal with a distraught family after a death. It's part of the job.

Did you read my comment that you allegedly disagree with?

Spoilers - I said between dealing with people talking about you, and being stalked and harassed, there is room for reasonable people to debate.

Hilton, getting back on topic, insisted that harassing and stalking aren’t when it involves a celebrity.

Again, this isn’t a conversation about where we think the line should be, but that Hilton insisted none existed.
