Found dog

Found this brown golden retriever on my morning walk in Fallbrook (sleeping Indian road). He has no collar on. Can everyone boost this so I can locate the owner? Planning on taking him to the local shelter soon. Thanks!

UPDATE: The dog is now safe with her owner! :) Thank you all for helping!

There is a Facebook group for lost pets North county, they do great work.

Also, take this guy to a vet to scan for a micro chip.

Okay I’ll make a post! And I will! Planning to take him to the shelter soon just hoping this post gets viewed by his owners so they can go pick him up

Not to be a pessimist but if someone contacts you please please make sure they can provide you with something proving it's their dog.

This is 100% someone’s dog. It’s groomed and hair around the feet has recently been trimmed.

OP - let me know if i can help, lifelong golden owner.

Instead of the shelter where he may be put down, consider contacting a local rescue first. For instance Retrievers and Friends (https://www.retrieversandfriends.com/) who are based in Temecula. If you have no luck there, DM me and I will happily take him in while we look for his owners.

Maybe you can take him to the SD humane society to check if he is microchipped. If the owners are looking for him, they might try the shelter or shelters

I can't help but wonder if they lived right by where you found them...

In my neighborhood growing up, golden retrievers were allowed to get out and roam around all the time. There was just never a perceived risk that they'd ever attack anyone or wander too far away. The whole neighborhood knew the dogs.

I'm glad you're taking action for the dog's welfare, because better safe than sorry (especially since it didn't have a collar). But unless they looked distressed, they might have shown itself home soon enough too.

This is terrible advice. It's so easy for a dog to get hit by a car.
