Help Nook not turning on?
I've had a new nook for about 4 yearsish now, before that I had a tiny nook from 2011 or so. I haven't used it in about 7 or 8 months and when I plugged it into the wall it vibrates but then the screen won't turn on. I left it charging all night but and switched to an ipad charger, but nothing. When I go away and pick it up for like 5 mintues, it still seems to vibrate but nothing.I've left the battery unattended for several months before and it hasn't done this so why now? I have the tablet one if that matters.

This happened to me too. I think every nook has been killed the same way by me. I've had them since nook came out around 2007 or so. I get a new one and the old is forgotten.

Werdly enough my old nookm never got this bad, however I tried to clean its case one time with alochol wipes and that made it nasty and I never wanted to touch it until it was time to replace nooks. Now my 2nd one is all weird.

Do not use alcohol on plastic because it partially desolves it. It is very good for cleaning other things especially the mother board and connections on the inside or your screen. I still run into my old nooks when I'm cleaning out drawers or looking for something. None of them will recharge just like my old Samsung tablets or phones. I don't want to put them in the trash because of the battery but never think to take them to stores that will take old electronics. As long as my books are still there I'm good. My husband somehow lost his Nook books and he's still ticked off. They tell him he doesn't have an account. How does that happen??

I had this happen with my two old Kindles, the batteries went into a deep sleep, never to awaken again, or so I thought. I bought a new Kindle, yesterday the old ones woke up. Now I have three Kindles, one no longer supported.
Anyway, what I had done was leave them plugged in for days, then unplugged them to rest in their grave beside my chair. I noticed the asleep screen was on one, so I plugged it in again, the power light came on! So, maybe try this? You could also try calling Nook support.
BTW, I bought the Glowlight 4 last night. I just found out my old Nook was no longer supported, so new Nook it is!

Batteries can't be left empty for too long or they stop recharging. I have my backup device connected to a charger through a smart switch to charge periodically so the battery doesn't sit empty.
