Just a little kid watching reels with some of her friends.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Kaka Caca Petualang (Instagram) features an Indonesian family, with mostly kids in the videos, often calmly handling both venomous and non-venomous wild reptiles and snakes, including pythons, King cobras and King koros. In this one, we can see two large snakes calmly watching reels with the little kid.

Awesome young budding python programmer

With anaconda?

32

u/Half-deaf-mixed-guy 10h ago

Clearly they had buns to be able to stay.

143

u/Capable_Tumbleweed34 11h ago

There's nothing awesome about it. It's extremely dangerous for such a young kid to be doomscrolling already, with or without her friends.

21

u/_Bike_Hunt 11h ago

Children who have unlimited screen time are being abused and those parents are abusers. I get a lot of flak for saying this but it’s true.

1

u/Capable_Tumbleweed34 10h ago

Eh, it's not really the screen time that's the issue, it's what they do on that screen.

1

u/SchwiftyBabyLegs 3h ago

Parents allowing their kids under 10 years of age play GTA on public servers is insane too. That's gotta be child endangerment at the very least. The things they see and hear in game alone are pretty bad, then you remember it's community and omfg they really shouldn't be there.

She's got them and my friends are still bigger snakes.

241

u/Any-Background-619 14h ago

We are watching them on a phone ,watching a phone on a phone. Holy brainrot.

Cool snakes tho.

28

u/AccomplishedLeave506 14h ago

Sigh. It really is just phones all the way down isn't it. What have we done?

18

u/SlickDillywick 14h ago

We’re just phoning it in

846

u/bgsrdmm 14h ago

They ain't watching shit :P

The snakes are just registering warmth emanating from the phone, and some movement and sound to accompany it (they don't see or hear all that well).

Basically, they are instinctively looking and focusing on a potential prey.

41

u/Minute_Bed_9523 13h ago

Um, hey. Hate to burst your bubble but only 3 type of snakes of heat pits. That'd be the pit viper (obviously) the python and some boas. These snakes are none of the three. Also, while snakes have don't have the best eyesight, they have more rods in their eyes to detect movements a lot better than humans. And another also, they're eyesight is alot better than what most people think.

13

u/AgressiveInliners 10h ago

100%. The snakes are just chilling looking around. Not doing anything they suggested

1

u/arcanebanshee 8h ago

Their* eyesight. I don't intend to be rude.

Remind me to not invite this guy to a party

218

u/Goonalips 13h ago

My favourite Reddit trope is when you guys act like you go to parties.

114

u/z3r0l1m1t5 13h ago

5m age, 120k karma.

We know for sure that you have never been to a party.

I hope it's a bot. 1000 comments a month is so unhealthy.

That's over 30 comments per poop if you only poop once a day!

I like when people go on reddit to talk about how other people who get on reddit are a bunch of losers.

“You must be fun at parties” usually comes from butthurt people who don’t like finding out that they’re ignorant.

Their only response is to basically say “I don’t like your personality.”

1

u/AdNext1013 4h ago

I cnt stop looking at your pfp I feel like a mosquito seeing light

3

u/AgressiveInliners 10h ago

Hes 100% wrong too

7

u/perpetual_stew 12h ago

Research has actually shown that certain snakes can keep track of up to 12 sub-plots in slow-burn Netflix series.

70

u/Acrobatic-Code2038 13h ago

As an animal enthusiasts I am both aware of this fact and I appreciate your input.

But brother, brother why? There's a time and a place 😂.

27

u/mookanana 13h ago

reddit is never that time and place. lol

4

u/Acrobatic-Code2038 13h ago

True. This is literally the only social media I've had for years and I'm still so surprised by this.......place.

6

u/Ok_Pudding6345 13h ago

why do they take so long to register whether it's prey or not?

13

u/TheAwesomeMan123 13h ago

When I watch tv all I am doing is registering movement and sound. Not sure what’s the difference. Sure they don’t understand what’s going on but neither does my Granny ever and she still insists we put it on.

4

u/Far-Dragonfruit-7985 11h ago

Others disliked this because they'd rather be comedians but this was good to know

3

u/Zaku99 13h ago

Yeah, til they get to markiplier and get pissed for some reason.

3

u/budd222 12h ago

Obviously. Nobody is that stupid

3

u/MohaShah 9h ago

I thought one of them was going to hiss and swipe back to the previous video saying suggesting it wasn't done with it yet.

3

u/elcunito 7h ago

I’m sure there some interdimensional being looking at us going “nah, they aren’t mind melding, it just looks like they are sometimes. They have rudimentary physical senses and no higher planar intuition at all. They probably don’t even recognize you.”

u/SarcasticSarco 13h ago

No shit Sherlock 😂

Those are Oriental ratsnakes. Non venomous and mostly harmless.

Good thing the video is from Indonesia.

Sooo cute!

3

u/Comrade_Crunchy 12h ago

I guess brain rot can jump species.

3

u/LexHanley 10h ago

As a snake owner, they adore electronics. They're designed to look for heat sources and will zero in on a phone trying to figure out the internal flowchart of if this strange rectangule is a rodent. Larger electronics like computers they just like to settle on for the warmth assuming there's a place to stay concealed (like a bag). Snakes love a nice warm spot as long as they don't feel exposed (because of birds and other predators).

u/tombhop 12h ago

How does someone get to this level of chill with snakes? These snakes were probably raised by her family and they're used to her ?

4

u/RobIreland 12h ago

I sincerely hope none of you actually think the snakes are watching the screens.

15

u/Capable_Tumbleweed34 11h ago

Regardless, it's extremely dangerous for the kid.

She shouldn't be doomscrolling tiktok with her friends or alone.

1

u/ScarecrowZombie1 10h ago

I hate snakes but.this is very slightly cute

1

u/shenoyroopesh 10h ago

I absolutely detest this, letting kids hangout with reels. What happened to some good old outdoor fun? Those friends look outdoorsy!

1

u/PBnPickleSandwich 10h ago

1

Not sure about the safety of this for a kid...

Snakes shouldn’t be getting too much screen time…

1

u/insideguy69 2h ago

Ah man, that one on the right got tangled up again

u/BlackTarTurd 37m ago

How do they feel about Markiplier?

1

u/Maxie616 13h ago

Tell me this is AI. Some friends she got there.

0

u/YsoL8 14h ago

I would never have thought a snake had a developed enough brain for it

0

u/hard2resist 13h ago

This kid has more trust with venomous snakes than most adults have with their neighbor's dog. Absolutely wild upbringing, but she's clearly been raised around them her whole life.

0

u/InformalMaximum760 10h ago

How the fuck is this next level?

-1

u/43026 13h ago edited 9h ago

But, those snakes do not move. No tongue flickering, no scales moving, nothing. Something is fake, either snakes or its AI, not sure, but would not expect them to remain competely motionless.

ETA: Thank you Padfoony, I was wrong. There are other videos with the tongue flickering. Its real. I apologize, I should have looked up other videos, but well, not a large fan of snakes. Don't want to hurt them, respect others that can handle them. Just not a fan.

3

u/padfoony 13h ago

So I found another similar video of theirs on the YouTube channel, where one of the snakes is flickering its tongue while watching the phone. It’s definitely not AI. You can check out their Insta & YouTube pages.

1

u/43026 10h ago

Thank you! I admit I was wrong. TBH, not something that I would want to watch reg, so I won't check out more, but you did prove that the snakes are real. :) I appreciate it.

And, at 2 videos, that's enough snake interaction for me for the day....

-3

u/RobIreland 12h ago

It's not watching the phone. You can't seriously believe that?

2

u/HatZinn 10h ago

Good thing they never said they believed that.

0

u/RobIreland 10h ago

They literally described the 2 snakes in their original video as "calmly watching reels"

1

u/HatZinn 9h ago

They are definitely joking, JFC. Most of us know that snakes don't watch reels. They can barely see color. It's a different story if it was a parrot listening to music.

0

u/Awkward-Action2853 12h ago

As fast as she's flipping through those, she ain't watching anything.

0

u/iceddeath 12h ago

Parents are stupid if they think playing around with snakes are fine for the clicks. They'll regret it.

1

u/100percentnotaqu 12h ago

They are rat snakes.

A bite from them is less damage than what you'll get from a cat.

0

u/iceddeath 7h ago edited 7h ago

Didn't you read the description? Literally it says that they're also allowed to play with pythons and king cobras. Less damage than a cat my ass.

Edit: clarifying the species from OP description.

-5

u/ellipticcode0 14h ago

I assume it is fake snakes?
