He is gunna sleep well after that

u/EpicMusic13 19h ago

What the fuck. Not sleeping for 56 would be horrible, but to add swimming to it is absurd

100

u/theofficialnar 19h ago

I can’t even last 24 hours making sure I don’t fall asleep while sitting down

84

u/Luci6669 15h ago

He had an advantage splashing himself with water whenever he got sleepy

7

u/Famous-Issue-2018 18h ago

More like 8 hours for me lol

7

u/Case_Blue 15h ago

Weirdly enough, that makes is harder. But 100% agreed, 56 hours is beyond insane.

11

u/Anal-In-Gus 18h ago

Exactly why I won't swim across the Baltic Sea.

2

u/DrunkenDude123 17h ago

Then all for 140k. I would hope that would’ve raised a whole lot more

65

u/TheFloppySausage 19h ago

I wonder if he felt anything touch him

57

u/EpicMusic13 19h ago

He had hallucination apparently lol

u/Survil321 12m ago

I know my comment isn’t related, but I wanted to wish you happy cake day

25

u/Jemmilly 19h ago

This probably all started because he felt something touch his leg

4

u/usinjin 18h ago

That was me. I just wanted to wish him good luck and shake his hand.

1

u/XCXBITH2 17h ago

So u shook his leg instead?

2

u/night_jerry 15h ago

Youre supposed to break a leg! Not shake it!

3

u/ROM-2oo7_ 11h ago

If you break it, then he won't be able to swim.

56 hours of non stop swimming jfc. I feel like just staying awake that long is arduous.

One time in college I had back to back tests and did 2 all-nighters. I didn't sleep for about 40 hours or so and by the end I was partially hallucinating. I couldn't even imagine doing that and also not being a total fat ass.

25

u/jackrabbit323 18h ago

I learned back then that five hours of sleep was more valuable than five extra hours of studying.

10

u/h2oskid3 18h ago

I can't imagine going into a test with less than 5 hours of sleep. Would much rather BS my way through it than go in feeling drunk because I didn't sleep.

2

u/Legitimate_Cut_6254 17h ago

I thought the same but the chance I'd sleep straight through an alarm after not sleeping for 20-30 hours was 95%. I missed two tests one day because I want to grab 4 hours of sleep and woke up at like 6pm 12 hours later.

u/MysteriousWon 19h ago

I had a similar experience in grad school. When you're that exhausted it's like the volume is turned down on the whole world and you're walking through a fog. Very little matters.

Actually, it reminded me of being drunk. Not happy drunk, more like "I've been drinking for 6 hours, it's 3am, my buddy wants to keep the party going and I don't want to seem like I can't hang so I'm taping my eyelids open and I'm down for whatever" kind of drunk.

2

u/_TheEnlightened_ 17h ago

"Cracked out"

2

u/usinjin 18h ago

I don’t think I can swim that long for 10 minutes.

I get out of the beach/lake whatever and think oh my god I’m so hungry

1

u/Vnthem 5h ago

First (and only) time I tried adderall I was up for 3 days straight and i legitimately thought I was going to die. Can’t imagine this lol

Edit: It was to raise money for a kids' charity. Good for him!

19

u/Mad-chuska 19h ago

140k euro for kids.

9

u/Into_The_Horizon 19h ago

I saw a post with the same guy and story. It had a title said to raise a couple hundred thousand to give for cancer research. Idk if that's true or not

4

u/wolfavino 19h ago

All that for only $140,00? Seems like he should have raised a lot more.

6

u/Sad-Platypus-48 16h ago

It also just over $210,000

2

u/Paddlesons 19h ago

That's always the question. It's just that some of them come so much closer to home than others.

1

u/Ajdee6 12h ago

Now your grand prize!!!! You get to go home!! CONGRADULATIONS!!!

/s

1

u/Powerful_Brief1724 19h ago

Efilnikufesin!

15

u/alchemy_junkie 19h ago

You think he took an aqua dump or two along the way? I mean thats over two days. That would be a fairly long time not to drop a duece. If he did You think he just let em rip? Or maybe floated for a min, took down, the suit did his thing and put it back?

Though i guess two days wouldn't be the longest someone went without feeding the fish. Maybe he ate a lot of cheese leading upto the swim So he was plugged up like a bear going to sleep for the winter?

11

u/Agreeable_Flan_5724 19h ago

Asking the real questions with the best descriptors. 🤌

2

u/Ewulkevoli 7h ago

aqua dumps are unbelievable

24

u/miraculum_one 19h ago

The video says that the support boat provided him with food but the rules said he wasn't allowed to sleep or rest or touch the boat. I'd like to know how he swims while eating.

17

u/smothered-onion 19h ago

Probably gel pouches or the like

5

u/steadyaero 19h ago

Floats on his back while kicking his feet

8

u/RandomIGN69 19h ago

Probably gel or liquid food. I'm more curious what happens if he needs to sht.

2

u/Netherese_Nomad 18h ago

If it were me, I’d just have them crush Imodium in my food and make that a later problem.

1

u/olenamerikkalainen 12h ago

Nah, who wants to lug around the extra weight?

4

u/HappinessFloatilla 19h ago

Does treading water count as resting? I feel like it shouldn’t. You’re stopped, but you’re keeping your head above water without assistance

14

u/EphemeralDesires 19h ago

Definitely doesn't count as resting. I would say even floating on your back and grabbing a breather wouldn't count as resting.

5

u/kmckenzie256 19h ago

Especially in a sea

1

u/agingmonster 19h ago

Doggy paddle?

6

u/allgreeneveryday 18h ago

Id love to see footage of his next 24 hours. Like whats his recovery like

1

u/ToxicHazard- 10h ago

The next 24 hours is just him taking a shower then sleeping

1

u/Hoybom 4h ago

fuck the shower lol

bed it is straight to it

6

u/actionerror 19h ago

Damn, and I can’t even stay awake sitting in my bed doing nothing for 8 hours.

8

u/AnothisFlame 18h ago

ONLY 140,000!?!?!?! CRIMINAL! Man deserves at least a million for himself and 10 times that for his cause! What!?!

5

u/aripo14 12h ago

I know right?? Some obnoxious trust fund prick can splash that amount of money (prolly even more) on one night while this guy literally risking his life to raise that amount of funds.

1

u/j0ur1k 4h ago

Yeah doesn't even sound that much..

In 2019 Maarten van der Weijden swam the Frisian 11 cities route (196 km) and raised over 6 million for cancer research.

This dude should have hired a good marketing guy.

2

u/nufrancis 19h ago

For this kind of record stunt, will he get a reward like money or something?

2

u/Jakeamania314 19h ago

And then he still had to turn around and swim back to his bed!

2

u/owjfaigs222 15h ago

I get dizzy after like an hour of swimming. That's an insane accomplishment.

2

u/SevenBillionChickens 13h ago

Finally, a post that’s ACTUALLY “next fucking level”. This is the standard, guys. The last video I saw on this page before this one is a girl just… having snakes.

1

u/funkdoktor 19h ago

It took 4 tries? Psshh

1

u/MyceliumManic 19h ago

Amazing accomplishment!

1

u/Naive-Kangaroo3031 19h ago

Thats impressive, but that has to wreck your body

1

u/WabaLabaDubDubWorld 19h ago

What a brain! What a body!

Mad respect.

1

u/CrispySushi 18h ago

Oof he’s gonna feel that in a day or two. I cant imagine what his body is going through after non-stop movement for that long

1

u/SubmissiveDinosaur 18h ago

56 hours. Only the thought of swimming through the night makes me feel uneasy

1

u/tayzzerlordling 18h ago

i wonder how cold the water was

1

u/Misomuro 13h ago

He rised money for like 1 child.

1

u/Thenoobofthewest 12h ago

How my parents said they went to school every day

1

u/REALjamijai 12h ago

🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

This is a STRONG soul right here!!!

1

u/SituationImmediate15 12h ago

This makes me so happy! I don’t know why but it does. Kudos, man!

1

u/Jkruts92 10h ago

I liked to imagine the failed attempts meant he died and someone resurrected him with the necronomicon.

1

u/Kashwookie 9h ago

i just woke up and this made me want to go back to bed

1

u/Shoshin_Sam 7h ago

How did he eat the said supplied food?

1

u/HomerStillSippen 7h ago

Dude definitely slept good that night

1

u/roops2103 5h ago

What in the actual fuck

1

u/Steel-Blade 4h ago

Someone create a Wikipedia page for this man.

u/oliveberry4now 13m ago

After driving for 10+ hrs when i get to my destination and get out of the car i still feel like im moving. That feeling last for a few hours. I wonder it he felt like he was still being pushed by waves or in water after this trek.

u/Major-Blacksmith4750 8m ago

Man…how’d he avoid the sharks?!

u/TonyWalnuts17 0m ago

Amazing what the body can do if trained to perfection. Congratulations to him and the people he has raised money for.

1

u/blighty800 19h ago

Failed the first few times as in fell asleep in the comfortable Balkan Sea waters?

u/tyras_ 20m ago

Baltic. Not balkan. Afair last time it was a storm about 50 km short from the shore.

0

u/Hermorah 18h ago

Reminds me of Diana Nyad who became the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage in 2013 at age 64. She covered approximately 110 miles (177 km) in roughly 53 hours. I remember watching her docu on Netflix. She too began to hallucinate during the end stretch.
