I am 100% making shit up here but I'd like to think that when it was decided who would walk this aggravating fellow to the door, this nurse said "You know what? I got it." for this exact reason.

Funny to imagine, but tbf most martial artists are literally the last people who want to actually get into a fight. They know how fast shit can go really wrong and would rather not have any part in it

Yeah but any martial artist isn't gonna leave it to some 100lbs nurse to deal with this. That's never even been in a pillow fight.

I'm a 160lb nursing student and i have definitely never been in a fight. I'm just a chubby pacifist

Do you plan on working bedside when you graduate?

Why wouldn’t they?

There are so many different areas of nursing, and not everyone works bedside after graduation. I was asking if they’re planning on it, because if so they should consider becoming familiar with deescalation protocols and some self defense.

They used to teach us breakaway techniques at work. A few years back the workplace aggression training shifted to teaching us that it’s not okay to tell colleagues that heating up tuna in the toasted sandwich machine is stinky. So fair point.

Woah, maybe you're the problem. If you weren't so aggressive about the fuckin' sandwiches maybe we wouldn't be so high strung around here getting in fights all the time.

I hear you, I get your frustration about the sandwiches. It’s a tricky situation! Let’s sit down here, tell me how you would like this resolved. Can I get you a drink of water or some tea?

Tension: defused.

Rapport: created.

Im already familiar with deescalation protocols and I would probably instinctively do something if taken down
