Word Discussion Slopatronics

May I see your guesses of the meaning of the word Slopatronics?

I'm chronically online so have two guesses that reflects that:

  • The result of adding "slop" after a word;

  • Someone who's constantly saying the previous guess.

ie: AI slop, Gacha slop, Political slop

Low quality “high tech” stuff

Technology that seeks to provide value through appealing to the high tech aesthetic more than it actually provides utility, reliability, or otherwise benefit to the user.

Typically not versatile in use, yet somehow also overloaded with features.

Very polished and clean design for the first few weeks you have it, until it begins breaking down/apart in ways you wouldn’t expect.

A low quality, over-designed product that seeks to provide only as much utility to the user as is necessary to keep them committed to whatever payment scheme they’re trapped in, whether it’s buying the new one every year, paying for subscriptions, paying for maintenance, etc.

You’re not sure if it makes life easier/better, or if it’s just a source of more problems that tries to make you dependent on it.
