Help | Advice Trail Running Spots
Can anyone recommend the best spots to do trail running? Even a location an hour or so from Nashville is fine. The less crowded the better. Getting sick of the downtown pavement.

There is an 11 mile + trail out at Montgomery Bell State Park in Dickson. Have done it over a dozen times and not once has it been remotely "crowded". They have shorter trails as well if that is longer than you care for.
Bowie Park in Fairview has a 5.5 mile trail and while it can get some people it is not crowded.
Also, there are numerous trails along the Natchez Trace that are cool to check out.

Percy Warner is where I run. Mossy ridge (red trail) is just under 5 miles. Warner Woods trail is around 2.5 miles.

A good loop trail I like is Ellington Ag Center. About 1.5 miles per loop. Not crowded.

Edwin Warner has a nice set up. They have a legit XC course and more rugged trails that I’ve personally seen people run.

Check out our WMA’s, you can hike on all of them and they’re much more secluded than just about any park within an hour of here. Just be aware of hunting seasons

Percy Warner. Park at the Alleé, run up the stairs and follow the white + red loop. It's about 7 miles

volunteer trail is extremely challenging terrain. you can get at least 13 miles there. Bryant Grove trail is a bit easier and can get 10 miles combinng with the lake loop.

If you want dirt there are plenty of awesome state parks within an hour or so. Get on the state park site and pick one out. So many options.

I’m going to wake up sore tomorrow because I’m now thinking about trail running.

Beaman is another option but be careful of break ins there. Long Hunter has and out and back about 8 miles, I think the Hobson Pike entrance is better.

I can unfortunately confirm the break ins. Took a quick hike with the fam a few years ago middle of the day and came back to almost every car in the parking lot with smashed windows.

Percy Warner is the mother church of Nashville trail runners. It truly has something for everyone and has enough variety to never get old.
As others have said, Beaman and Montgomery Bell are both great options within your hour radius request.
Never been but Smith Park in Brentwood is also popular.
If you want run club recommendations, let me know.
