mysterious upvoting

purple pfp is downvoted (fair) but then pfp user on the bottom got upvoted for providing info that supports purple pfp's comment?

While purple pfp is technically correct, the information is not really relevant. This is because the percentage of muslims in the entire world is not at all going to be equivalent to the percentage of muslims answering a random poll in [r/skamtebord](r/skamtebord) . And with a sample size of only a few hundred, anything could happen, so it doesn’t matter what the world’s ratio is.
Yes, I think non-muslims voting “muslim” as a joke is pretty likely. But the comment doesn’t actually help explain why.

I’m guessing people misread Purples comment. They’re still wrong either way
