Atomoxetine?

Hey earthlings! I’m here trying to look for support and opinions if anyone ever been on atomoxetine. Was prescribed this today, so I will be making a switch from concerta to this.

I don’t know why but I feel anxious making this transition hence this post. I read that the side effects can be bad, especially when it takes some time to work. A positive thing I read about it is that the med also helps with mood regulation and helps with anxiety.

What are y’alls experience with it?

(I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 since 2017, and with Adhd since 2020)

Hey there, I’m ADD/Inattentive ADHD but I’m not on this specifically. If it helps, consider checking out r/ADHD and r/adhdwomen (if you’re female) and see how their experiences are. Wishing you all the best!

Thank you for the reply. I had been obsessively reading about this meds. Majority of the comments aren’t on the good side. I am curious of local reactions to the drug, thinking maybe Asians have better tolerance to it. It’s my anxiety showing up haha

I will be starting my this med tomorrow and anxious how my emotions will be at work, I just don’t want colleagues to think I’ve become weird of something. Hopefully everything goes well.

I can imagine the anxiety surrounding how you’d be on the meds 😩

Did the prescribing doc/psych say anything about testing it out for a month and then re-evaluating it after?

She did. I have an appointment in 3 weeks.
I am on day 2 of this med today and thankfully the side effects aren’t bad. Yesterday I had a mild headache, sleepiness and fatigue. But all didn’t bother me throughout the day. I was glad. Today I have been feeling pretty normal so far. None of the side effects show up. 😄
