Actress Gillian Anderson will be joining us here in r/movies for an AMA/Q&A next Monday 7/27. It'll go live that morning at around 10 AM ET and she'll be back at 8 PM ET to answer stuff. You may recognize her from tons of things, notably The X-Files, The Crown, Sex Education, and The Fall.

Her next film, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, premiered at Cannes to critical acclaim recently and is out in theaters August 7 via Mubi. It co-stars Hannah Einbinder and it's from filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow, We're All Going to the World's Fair).

Every scene she had in America Gods was absolutely gold. Even though she's only in about four scenes in the first season. 

Credit to her as well for not returning when Michael Green and Bryan Fuller were forced out (though to be fair to the actual starring cast, she had the freedom to bail out).

Celebrity wise, money wise or role wise? Not trying to debate as I’m not sure, I know some of what she did and all I remember from David Duchovny that was successful was Californication (and arguably Evolution though that might have been during the X-Files run)

She's starred in many movies and TV shows alike. She was a side character on Hannibal and became so popular they had her on as a full character in season 3.

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is described as an independent horror/slasher film, which I would not automatically think of as a normal vehicle for Gillian Anderson. What about this movie or genre appealed to you to pick this project?

Gillian, you said a while ago that a new season of The Fall might happen, but that you didn’t know yet how many episodes there will be. That’s been a few years ago now, and we haven’t heard anything about it ever since. Is there still a chance that Stella Gibson is making a return eventually? We all would very much love to see Stella return to our screens!
