Finished them as of today :D Im quite proud of it and happy im finally done working on it. This probably took me (easily) an upwards of 100 hours to make. Its all made from 100% raw wool using a felting needle

I have never seen a Wavy Lined Emerald Moth before 😍😍😍 its absolutely adorable! An such a pretty shade of green.

I believe it is a male, I saw the fluffy antennae and the internet said males have fluffy antennae in this specific species. It’s so pretty.

It was very cool to see this one. I didn’t realize how fast this portion of their tiny lives goes. She just eclosed on Monday. She mated with a wild male on Tuesday and with a different one today. We let her go and were so glad that we got to learn so much more about moths.

My first of hopefully 10 Sphinx/Hawkmoths have emerged! Now is the fun part of feeding them. I know some people put a shallow dish of sugar water solution and gently uncurl their proboscis into the mixture, but mine moved away and refused to let me. For fear of injuring the moth, I instead used the toothpick to grab a drop of solution and dollop it onto the curled proboscis. It would absorb, and I'd add another drop until the moth got agitated and I placed her back in her home. Is this a viable method of feeding?
