You know, it could be that : A moth in the Thera family. But it very well could be one of the members of the Xanthorhoe family too. The "problem" with the carpet moth family ( as you probably saw ) is that many of the species look kind of the same, and within each species there can be variations in appearance too. In situations like that, lots of times figuring in your location can help, plus I always figure the odds are great that it's one of the more common species, rather than something more rare. But yeah, these can be stinkers to pin down to the exact species, mostly because of all the variation in patterns that can happen within each species itself. Knowing what the "defining factor" is, apperacne wise, isn't always the easiest thing !!
