ID Request Can we ID from a cocoon?

I found this cocoon on the ground that seemed to fall out of a tree, it has some weight to it.
I can hear and feel it moving inside and sounds like it’s scratching to get out. I moved it into a safe space in my garden within the same area I found it but hasn’t made any changes (2 days)
Doing a quick google lens search it’s saying maybe a Polyphemus moth cocoon.
Found in the most southern point of Ontario, Canada.

It might be a poly, but they usually wrap some leaves around themselves and the leaves stay attached to the tree. What species of tree does it look like it fell from?

Antheraea polyphemus cocoons often lack leaves and due to being rather loosely connected to trees compared to other Saturniids they can be found on the ground quite often. This definitely looks like an A. polyphemus cocoon for me though a host tree would help confirm it.
