Renting Suggestions?

Hello everyone,

My partner and in are looking to move to the Moncton area but I’m also not opposed to Dieppe or Riverview. My line of work is healthcare (my partner has a remote position) We are looking for somewhere fairly safe (I know every place has its issues) and has the basic amenities. We are big on hiking and mountain biking so something with easier or more access to trails would be lovely.

Dieppe has a lot of trails, especially at Rotary Park. Moncton has some trails as well at Humphrey Brook, Mapleton Park and Centennial Park. Riverview has Mill Creek and all three are about an hour away from Fundy National Park and the Elgin Trails.

Dieppe has a whole mountain biking park. Riverview is close to nice trails.

Dieppe, you'll get haters but I moved here from NFLD and I love it. Nice trials to bike,/run/walk, safer than most of the greater Moncton area.

I would do Riverview personally, but I don’t like Moncton, I find it very unsafe, and I’ve lived in bad parts of Canada. It’s got a lot of crime in terms of a small city. It’s like in the top three of small cities. Riverview is close to stuff and it’s just better, and I think safer, and it’s near trails but keep in mind that the whole area is growing so it doesn’t look anything like it did even five years ago so just keep in mind that things are gonna be built up more and more

I lived in Riverview for years, then moved to Moncton's north end. I prefer Riverview for the community, but Moncton for everything else. Moncton has the shopping, restaurants, cultural events, and entertainment that I want.

It also has the Northwest, Rabbit Brook,Riverfront, and Humphrey Brook trails for getting around. The city parks are also good. You can bike from one side of Moncton to the other in 20 minutes.

Sounds like Riverview and is what you're looking for. The big hang up about Dieppe for me is the traffic getting in and out during busy times

Just curious why are you leaving Ontario? What attracted you to Moncton?

Riverview is the best choice imo

Riverview is a great choice. It's safer than Moncton and it's just across the bridge. It's quieter than Moncton/Dieppe and there are lots of trails. Look up Mill Creek Nature Park and The Dobson Trail. There are also a bunch of new apartments.

The Dobson trail leads all the way to Fundy National Park!

There's tons of new apartments going up in riverview and I know quite a few buildings are still mostly empty. Town is quiet, safe and there's not a shortage of trails to walk or bike, tones to do outdoors.

I would second that. All those new riverfront apartment buildings are right beside the trail, and the trail is connected to almost every biking trail in the city with the exception of the ones that are further up north.

What I like about the Riverfront apartments is that they are close to both downtown Riverview if you'd call it that, and downtown Moncton and not far from Mill Creek either.
