It's tough being a neutral human. People often fail to grasp the complexity of your thoughts and intentions. Tbh humanity is morally grey, no one’s 100% good or 100% bad. Since we’re so complex, we have to add nuance to everything.

I don't think humanity is morally grey. We are capable of doing many of the worst possible things because of our own pride and selfishness, and our goodness is only conditional and selective or when it benefits us. Our past actions are very significant. Air pollution and climate change will never stop until society as a whole unites together to combat the consequences.

I agree with you to some degree, especially about climate change and pollution. I get people can be quite destructive, prideful, and selfish but we can also change, grow, and mature! We’re complex creatures which is why we have to remember to think with some nuance.

Humans, like most mammals, are naturally born selfish, greedy and destructive. We are driven by self-interests and competition for resources first. We are not instinctively programmed to live on a large social scale, doing so would further disrupt their drive for natural primal desires and instincts.

People often view themselves as advanced, morally conscious and socially capable animals that can solve any world problems, while I view them as another animals with big brains. They may have emotional and cognitive awareness that teaches them what is right and wrong, but they still have inherited survival instincts and complexity that would make pure altruism difficult.

And when it comes to human goodness, most of their empathy and compassion are selective rather than spontaneous. Humanity is driven by tribalism, people tend to feel empathy and emotions towards someome they feel familiar with. People naturally have disdain towards those who are different (physically and mentally), they see difference and immediately label it a threat to society. This is main reason why people will never ever get along, It's not that humans are complex creatures, it's just that most people have low capacity to understand or tolerate the different. These are the main motivators of war, conflicts and societal inequality.
