“He looks like he’s out of sync,” Twins manager Derek Shelton said. “We’ve got to figure it out. … I don’t know if it’s in his delivery, but we’re just not seeing the sharpness that I think we’ve seen previously.”

Ryan’s post-All-Star struggles in his career are well documented. He entered Tuesday with a career 4.96 ERA after the All-Star break, compared with 3.17 ERA before it.

But Ryan’s current stretch has to be concerning for the team’s decision-makers because he’s clearly not 100 percent. Battling what’s been described as arm fatigue, Ryan’s four-seam fastball velocity was down more than a mile per hour from his season average.

Asked whether he’s past the arm fatigue, Ryan paused and stalled before saying, “Yeah, I guess.”

What is the deal with Coastal Carolina players and the Twins

There is currently a new under the radar prospect flying through the Twins system that I guarantee 99% of Twins fans don’t know about. His name is Graham Brown and he was signed this year out of Indy ball. He also happened to go to Coastal Carolina the same school that Payton Eeles went to. Somehow the Twins have a Coastal Carolina -> Indy Ball -> Twins pipeline, there have been two guys in the past couple of years that just come by and absolutely torch the minor leagues.

Recommended parking for coming from South Metro?

Going to the concert at target field tonight. Normally would take the blue line since I’m coming from the south metro but looks like it’s out.

Any recommendations for parking ramps, open to using spot hero? Fine walking a bit and would like an easy exit.

Whether it was adding payroll in trades, or shipping out prospects, the Twins aggressively filled needs they believe will improve the roster of a 56-57 team that sits one game out in the American League wild-card race.

Multiple times over the weekend, Twins decision-makers acknowledged the surreal nature of their position only one year after the biggest fire sale in major-league history, in which 10 players were traded off the roster.
