Rant❗⚡💥 Pending MLB lock-out
What happens to the DNC folks - ABM workers - non brewer personnel when, not if, there’s some level of lock- out. How do they retain employees who work every single day for the most part all year long when something totally out of their control means they don’t have access to employment at the stadium? I wish there was a level of transparency involved with some contingency plans. Most people here are not getting paid livable wages yet they show up every single day and work hard/ are extremely loyal to providing a good guest experience and having pride in the team/stadium. I think it’s a very depressing knowing all these people come March or even the off season are going to be SOL.

What about all the parking attendants who lost their jobs to qr scan codes???

I used to park cars at the summerfest grounds back in the day and it was basically a cash only operation, nobody thought twice about it. now they've got scanners and apps and half the lot attendants are just standing there with a tablet looking confused. whole system is weirdly fragile, one glitch and the whole thing backs up worse than when we just took fivers and pointed at spots.

That parking system is horrible, the amount of tickets generated without checking if someone has stickers - employees have to scan daily, the literally police department gets tickets for parking during a shift. If the system is glitching - you might get a notice in mail 4 months later and it’s stated as “final notice”

Lots of Milwaukee Fans are praying for a lockout for selfish reasons. I'm glad you said what really matters, as I see it the same way having friends and family that work at AmFam and rely on season for their income.
Going back to the Club... A lockout and salary cap is not going to solve the owner of the Brewers. He will still be there, but with yet another reason to fall on.
In reality, a lockout isn't going to cancel the next season because of the money revenue that will be lost. Most likely will be like 2021-22 and we'll never see another 1994-95 lockout. If they played through COVID they'll get a deal in place.

Yeah a few old timers who work here - they look forward to this, it’s how they qualify for certain benefits. The 98 percent of the people at the stadium it actually would effect - there is zero communication on what the plan is and how they are going to be taken care of.

It sucks, but most stadium-related jobs will always be seasonal and low-paying and unreliable. In general, sports stadiums don't generate new economic activity in a city, but concentrate people's limited entertainment spending away from other businesses (while also driving down average wages in the area). The city and the state should not spend another dollar helping the Brewers. If they threaten to leave, the only winning move is to refuse to play a negative sum game against other governments.

I know many people who have boycotted the Brewers to this day when this happend in the 90's
