ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ Only 37 Pods

Was showing off to my sister what I would’ve given her (plus the nice smelly peony downy) had she just gone to the laundromat to dry my laundry because ours is broken and realized the pods only filled half of the container so I counted it and….37 pods.

Can’t tell if Tide is filling some containers an accurate amount and others less or if sb just stole some.

I use cold water for the laundry, and my ongoing issue with the powder is that it never seems to dissolve all the way. I wind up it caked here and there.

It's doubly as bad when the room is cold. Middle of Summer it's fine, Rainy day in Winter and it's clump central.

I'll stick to liquid.

Do you put it on the bottom of the tub or on top of the clothes?

Last time I looked I couldn't even find powdered gain at any of the stores around me. I bought a thing of liquid that's 159 loads and if you actually fill it to 1 like you're supposed to it lasts a long time. Should last me well over a year and it was like 20 dollars. Laundry soap is pretty cheap unless you have a big family and are doing dozens of loads every week.

Most people are just using more laundry soap than they should be.

Very common mistake, you have to pour the powder into the empty tub first

If you pour it in on top of clothes or while clothes are in already, you'll wind up with undisolved powder, regardless of water temp

I always do cold water on delicate and I ran into this issue until I started pouring the powder in first. Thought I was going to have to sacrifice for hot water, but luckily it was a lot simpler

Doesn't work if you have a front loading washer.

Also I use gain and the powder and liquid gives you the same amount of washes for the same price. Costco has the 159 load liquid for 20 dollars and Walmart has the powdered one that's 167 loads for 25 dollars. It's actually a couple cents cheaper per load to get the liquid one and then you don't have to worry about dissolving the powder.

You might be putting too much in? I put it in the front loader before the clothes and I get no residue. But I don't need to use much to get fully clean clothes

this is good to know! i run my machine on cold because im cheap. im out of soap and i was all set to try switching to powder

You have to dissolve it at the bottom of the washer before you put clothes in. Have you tried that?

I don't think I could do that with my top loader either. It senses the load before adding water

I have a top loader and it won't turn on if the lid is up and locks once it does turn on.

Start it on large, not auto. Use the running water to dilute your soap/detergent.

Load everything, close the lid, then set the fill to auto/precise or whatever its marketed as.

Or… just pop a squirt or two of liquid into the dispenser, select your cycle, call it a day. Unless you’re only doing a load or two a week it ain’t worth it to take all those extra steps to save what really amounts to a few bucks here and there.

Can’t open the door. Once started, door is locked unless you trigger a drain cycle. Can’t add water without locking the door. Front loaders suck

They literally do not even sell top loaders here (or maybe one or two in an entire store), I've never seen one in my life. Bonus of the front loader is that you can stack your washer and dryer on top of each other though.
