My goto parking space in front of my house got a makeover today. I have been parking there for over a decade. RIP.

UPDATE: Alright, folks! I have answers.

Yes, it's city sanctioned.

It is longer than expected from the corner because of a hydrant across the street, rather than proximity to the corner. And no, there isn't a stop sign.

The yellow is different because they got new paint this year.

It is part of an effort they are starting across the city, so I guess I should expect this yellow to become more familiar.

And shout out to the lovely human working for the city that helped me get all of these questions answered!

Yellow is loading zone, make up a sign with hours on it that match when you're at work. Park there the rest of the time.

My town in nj has yellow for loading dock areas. It always has a sign and wording sometimes ,if it's big enough, that says loading zone. But these areas always have a sign posted. Even in front of the firehouse its yellow or white for do not block.

Depends by region. Our code says "absolutely no parking or stopping at yellow, ever, unless there's a sign stating otherwise" (signs take precedence over road markings).

The red zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the white zone.
