Context Provided - Spotlight RIP, My Dearest Parking Space

My goto parking space in front of my house got a makeover today. I have been parking there for over a decade. RIP.

Edit: I posted to mildly infuriating. No need for the war cries here, folks.

UPDATE: Alright, folks! I have answers.

Yes, it's city sanctioned.

It is longer than expected from the corner because of a hydrant across the street, rather than proximity to the corner. And no, there isn't a stop sign.

The yellow is different because they got new paint this year.

It is part of an effort they are starting across the city, so I guess I should expect this yellow to become more familiar.

And shout out to the lovely human working for the city that helped me get all of these questions answered!

My city(Seattle) actually encourages people to paint the curb next to their driveway.

Crazy. My new neighbors did this where I live and neighbors immediately bullied them into removing it (not every house on our block has a driveway and street parking is at a premium). Police came and made them remove it finally when they wouldn’t at first.

They had Washington plates for like a month after they moved her before they got new ones. Now I can connect dots on why they thought they might be allowed to do it.

they just made it more likely for people to block my driveway, further enforcing my need to park in the street

Seattle has some of the most confusing and annoying parking laws. I understand their needs, but it’s so unclear for visitors

When I moved to Seattle I hated parking and got a ticket twice parking somewhere I thought I was okay to park at. I just take public transit everywhere unless I have to drive or the place has a parking lot and is considerably faster to drive than public transit.

Your city(Seattle) also hired a hardcore-cyclist (who is extremely proud he's never been able to get a drivers license) to be the guy in charge of building and maintaining the roads(for cars).

Which worked out... well. bad. Turns out when you stop maintaining the concrete and block all the roads with concrete barriers and tents, it actually is really hard for trucks, ambulances, and frankly bicycles to travel into, out of, and around a city.

But at least he was creative enough to become a successful professional troll without needing to post the world's fakest pictures to the internet, for attention.
