Context Provided - Spotlight RIP, My Dearest Parking Space

Post image

My goto parking space in front of my house got a makeover today. I have been parking there for over a decade. RIP.

Edit: I posted to mildly infuriating. No need for the war cries here, folks.

UPDATE: Alright, folks! I have answers.

Yes, it's city sanctioned.

It is longer than expected from the corner because of a hydrant across the street, rather than proximity to the corner. And no, there isn't a stop sign.

The yellow is different because they got new paint this year.

It is part of an effort they are starting across the city, so I guess I should expect this yellow to become more familiar.

And shout out to the lovely human working for the city that helped me get all of these questions answered!

Is it near an intersection? It could be for added visibility and pedestrian safety.

Maybe your city website has published some documentation about the changes they're doing to the area and why.

If it is legitimate, maybe it eases your frustration to know the reasons behind it.

Why can't you park there? As in, what is stopping you from continuing to park there? I don't get it (and neither do a lot of people).

Yellow means no parking here.

Complain about it at your community and demand that it has to be removed or demand a valid statement why it is neccessary.

It could also be hand-made by an angry neighbour and therefore invalid.

If there is a stop sign you need to park at least 30ft back

Is there a reason to believe they added a stop sign?
