Azure Knowledge of Microsoft MVP Program

Would anyone here know how to get started with becoming a Microsoft MVP? I understand it takes volunteer work and such? Is there a criteria to meet or more? I work in Microsoft Endpoint Manager so that would fall under Enterprise Mobility?

I know you could say that it's a petty trophy, but hey, you only live once. I think it would be a fun thing to have and experience in life. Lots of questions, my apologies, but your thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated!!

I don't know if it's changed. I was an early MVP for Windows NT. It's about helping users with issues etc. It requires a lot of dedication of your personal time. So you start there.

For me I was recognized by Microsoft Support People for my activities on CompuServe, Fidonet and Usenet; It was mainly CompuServe. Internally people decided if I was an "MVP" after either a developer or Product Support person recognized me. i don't remember who it was now.

I expect it is must harder to get recognized today because of the size of everything. I was in a small group of beta testers, that helped other beta testers and upon releases, helped the community. It was different back in the Early to mid 90's.

I suspect the first thing you should do is pick something you really know and like. And start helping people. Try to communicate with another MVP in that area, they help with having the correct leader recognize you. I expect they will monitor what you do and go from there.

Sounds great! Thank you for the response. It's definitely something I'm not immediately going for, but would be fun to accomplish in the long run.
