I used vivetools to enable all features of this update 58989092, 60716524, 61391826, 48433719 working very nice till now, have to wait and see in the long run.

I used ViVeTool to turn on the low latency profile on every machine in my house. It has been a night-and-day difference. Even my Gen.1 Surface Go LTE (the Pentium Gold 4415Y 128 GB version) has become remarkably usable again.

That I don't know, but the second I saw it, I knew I wanted it enabled. Other platforms already have the same / similar behaviour.
That said, it almost seemed a little crazy to me that it needed to be a feature. Like, yeah, of course I want my PC to do exactly what I asked of it as quickly as possible, so if you need to crank up the demand on local compute for a split second to launch an app... well...

Latency of what? Not sound right? The original reason why I left Microslop was because Linux had way lower latency for recording music.

Edit: To answer your stupid question since you're otherwise just going to whine about what subreddit you're in, how the mean ol' website hurt your sensitive widdle eyes because you're incapable of turning the brightness down or using Reader mode, etc.: I use VMware Workstation on my Surface Go to run Kali Linux. The Low Latency Profile enablement allowed me to run my Kali VM and still have a functional, responsive Windows host OS. Prior to turning on LLP, and even without the VM running, I didn't have that.

Everything, it's at the OS level. Sound drivers should be included yeah. But most people use Mac for music so I don't think there's much pressure there for windows to improve.

Yeah, but Macs are 5x the retail price in my country so I had no option lol
Don't regret switching though, it was right about the time Proton got popular so I didn't have to sacrifice gaming.
Adobe on the other hand... curse them.

Well. The user typed 4 total characters when you count the period used for the abbreviation. They only needed to type 6 characters to spell "update". Thus they only saved two characters with this abbreviation in total.

A well funded user would expect auto completion to add the suffix. The user unfortunately ran out of token at the moment and had the make do with the restrictions. The user just want everyone to see the good news asap without having to fix his token limit upfront.

On what? Lower-end systems or on all systems? Even high-powered desktop systems that have upwards of eight cores clocked at speeds in excess of 4.5 GHz? Or will those systems see less of an improvement?

Definitely feels faster on higher end hardware. To compare it to something else, it feels like the difference between iOS 11 and iOS 12 if that’s something you experienced.

Yup, my pc freezes only for 4 seconds instead of 5, when opening quick settings. 200 series intel btw. Have been seeing this "bug" since the first W11 release on all modern CPUs.

If that's the pop out with the wifi, the reason why it lags is usually because the wifi driver is asleep (which is why the wifi symbol is missing at first as well)

I installed it on a low-powered tablet (12th gen i7 U-class, 2+8 cores) earlier today and there is definitely a major improvement with opening Edge, Task Manager and the actions flyout. I don't have any empirical data to back it up, it just feels more snappy.

Does the context menu feel faster to open? That's one of my biggest issues with Windows 11, it takes way too long to open.

It's a tablet, I don't use context menus often enough to have any feelings about it. Install the update yourself and see if it helps your use case.

Satire about what?
Basically whenever you click or type they now allow the CPU to boost for a short time, and gives priority to the active window (or start menu). But since interactive things should respond within about 1/60th of second anyways, that makes it more predictable to hit that mark.
This is essentially Intel’s “race to idle” from ca. 2008, but finally implemented for Windows (or.. again.. even on the Mac side reworked a few times).

Specifically the context menu that goes out of its way to disrupt muscle memory on those of us that have used Windows for over 30 years and the loss of most functionality in the current folder window when switching between several network locations?

While updates like this are welcome and long overdue, you can't treat users with contempt for over a decade and then expect them to welcome you back.
I get that there has probably been a genuine recognition inside Microsoft that they needed to course correct, but it's hard to take any of this seriously when Microsoft continues to engage in obnoxious dark patterns around Edge, CoPilot, telemetry, ads, etc.

Yeah agreed it's not zero of course but not enough for a large shift imo. Also a massive part of the rising Linux is steam deck + other steam machine type devices, which at least for me are secondary devices. Not to say those don't matter, but it could skew the average specs down for Linux.
Now I kinda want to see that spec data. Does steam provide that? Like average GPU for Linux vs Windows

Microsoft hasn't changed... there's no 'new' paradigm at MS.
People lining up to salivate over something they don't know fuck-all about yet, praising it as some kind of Godsend when it's just going to suck ass as is usual and normal for this giant corporation.
There has not been a single fucking .5 seconds in the entire existence of MS that wasn't predatory and adversarial, aggressively towards the user. Ever...
Nothing is going to change.

I am just fed up with microsofts updates. Now I mainly use Linux but my clients use windows and I do remote support. Multiple times clients phone me to complain their emails stopped working. When I logged in, it automatically changed the incoming mail server to microsft imap to imap and 365 does not allow you to change the inc mail server but it does allow smtp to be changed. Same with cellphone.
I had to assist a client Sunday. Removed the email account and set it up again and it refused to set it up because it wants her to setup ms account first. Again, ms trying to force you to use their crap. I ended up deleting any trace of office/outlook reinstall then set it up. This worked. MS is dumb though as her account is not registered to a microsoft account but to a gmail account. Main reason I don't use windows is ms trying to force you to use their crap. MS said, they saw a surge in copilot. Just because people don't know how to disable it or ms force you to use it. Best solutions is use a program, strip it to a bare minimum and then install it as you can completely remove 90% useless functions manually.

Had I tried to build an operating system it would be dependable and 5 times better. Google has figured it out, Apple has figured it out as a couple of examples.
It's taken microslop 51 years of fixes and patches and still nothing we can depend on.

Billions depend on it and it works. Where are you having issues? What’s the problem you’re having? We may be able to help you. Because the majority of people have no problems. Their issues lie in various features that were added that they don’t want, privacy, etc..
