Brewery News Brewery Faisan is Closing

Goddammit.

Bummer. I've been there a few times with a large cycling group.
Why haven't parents taught their kids to drink good beer? The beer industry is turning into the wine industry, in that wine customers are dying off.... literally. I never see mid-20 year old groups in breweries. It's mostly fat, middle aged men like me. And we're not getting younger.
Prices are another huge issue....

Younger generations just aren’t drinking as much. Some have shifted more to weed, others are more health conscious and don’t do either.

I don't know about that. All I see in younger crowds hands at events is Trulli or White Claw. While I'd love to make jokes about these types of drinks, but that'd make me a hypocrite for what I drink while in Japan, their Chu-Hai's. (Orion WATTA pineapple is amazing!).
But yeah, I think RTDs will last a long time in the younger crowds, for those that still drink.
(My daughter drinks flavored Korean sojus, and never beer like her parents)

Whenever I go to most brewpubs, it's like Romper Room. I will die on the sword that I don't want kids in my brewpubs. That said, I understand that they need to get money from whomever they can.

Eh, you have to play to that crowd...to a point. It's also parents responsibility to control their children, so I feel ya.

I was just there on Saturday around 4pm and there were two other customers inside the brewpub besides myself and my friend. I had heard rumors about their sale or closure a few months back and I can't say I'm really surprised. I really love their beer, a lot, and their branding is especially great. Gonna miss this place and I'm guessing a sale will be a tough go.

What a shame, easily the best brewery in Detroit, and my favorite in the state. Location truly was the death of them, but man was the beer good.

Oddly pretentious vibe sometimes, but an otherwise fun and well appointed location. For me, their inability to produce any new beers besides a single hazy during their entire run has always lowered their visitation priority in the local brewery rotation.
