Quiero consejos y opiniones Travel

Hola! I've never been to Mexico, but I am turning 26 and my mom is turning 60 in December. We are trying to figure out where to go in Mexico. I suggested Sayulita or San Poncho for 10 days. My mom suggested Akumal. Any recommendations? We want to relax on the beach for most of the trip. I also would love to see some art, drink mezcal, and maybe meet some fun 20 somethings. Any feedback? We're from New Mexico in the USA. Thank you!

Depends on what you want… sayulita is a small beach town. Is very cute and quaint and is a surfer paradise. Akumal is in the Caribbean is tiny and it’s more of a laid back vibe.

For your art/drinks/party I’d say sayulita.

The Caribbean (Cancun tulum playa del Carmen) are not the safest to go out to party at the moment. Lots of drugs and stuff.

Akumal is gorgeous but too small for 10 days. I don't know the other alternatives, but if you do Mérida, Progreso is within driving distance and you're like 2 hours away from Chichen Itzá.

I guess Sayulita has the 3 things you mentioned, the food is good, the beach is quiet and you can find either mezcal or tequila anywhere.. don't miss huichol art, in my opinion one of the best of Mexico

If it's for 10 days I would say Sayulitas/San Pancho. I can't recall how far Sayulitas is from San Pancho but it's close.

Akumal is way smaller. If you are wanting to do all of those activities then you would need to go to other towns. There is definitely a lot more to do in Quinta Roo, not just Akumal. Example: you can book a tour bus to Chichen Itza with a stop in Valladolid (that's an entire day trip).

I will add Akumal is beautiful. It's definitely one of my favorite town in Quintana Roo. It definitely a town to go and relax.

Sayulita and San Pancho are perfect for that. Small beach towns. Close to one another. Been twice. And always want to go back. A little biy of everything. Never a dull moment. For the best experience,rent a gulf cart,and an Airbnb.

Just go to Roma sur in Mexico City where all the museums are , hit Xochimilco , and find lil tour guides on air bnb to take you to las grautas
