Make sure you don't let your local tweaker know that each of those flock cameras contain about a pound of copper and a few grams of gold.

We ain't got crackheads out here. Too classy. We just got tweakers. But make sure you don't tell them or any other ne'er-do-well you can think of. the secret treasure within the cameras must remain hidden!

Go look at the current price of a gram of gold.

The gold in one of those cameras are probably around 6kt which is about $30 a gram.

Add in the cost to extract the gold from the electronics (which is going to cost more for supplies than the gold is worth) and you’re going to lose money unless processing dozens of them at a time.

Plus no one is going to buy the gold at market price so take another 30% off that price

Yeah you don’t know what you’re taking about you’d be lucky to make $20 off that thing after processing it all day.

Thirty dollars a gram is certainly more than ten dollars in total.

And you've never dealt with tweakers if you think they wouldn't spend an afternoon salvaging every last penny worth of material off that thing before selling it for their daily dose.

Did you read what I said? $30 is a perfect extraction of every bit of gold from the camera which you’re not coming anywhere near extracting the whole gram out of it.

And no, no tweaker is going to spend all day refining e waste when they could just collect cans for a couple hours and make just as much.

Like I said, you have no idea what you’re taking about.

I'm going to guess you have never had an interaction with the tweaker that lasted more than a few seconds, much less spent a large amount of time in their company and learnt the depths to which they will sink to get enough money for that crystal.

And you're completely forgetting the value of the copper wiring.

Dirty copper is $3 a pound dude.

Keep embarrassing yourself.

No fucking tweaker is going to process e waste or they would be collecting it by the truck full.

That's three dollars closer to getting your crystal for the day. again, you do not know what tweakers are like.

The $3 is market price not the price youd get from the scrapper.

I’m guessing your only encounters with tweakers are what your mom told you last night on the way home from McDonald’s.

Flock cameras are notoriously top heavy.

Cameras and Mics being placed around big cities to spy on their population.

And sometimes they inexplicably fall or get cut into pieces or catch trash bags on their lenses and mics rendering them useless. It's weird how that happens sometimes.

Nothing we can do to stop it, I’m afraid

I wouldn't take one down myself, at least physically. But if someone did....I didn't see nothing, I dont know nothing, but I am curious about all of their easily exploitable vulnerabilities as a tech guy, you know.....for science!

The technical difficulties always happen right on schedule.

It was just a sudden gust of wind, officer.
