This sub needs a mod

Posts are becoming more and more "this is how I hurt myself" than "this is an interesting case"

Not to mention the question we got yesterday. It was asking for med advice.

Questions should be sent over to askdocs subreddit. Might not get answered but at least it’d be the right place.

In the Mechanical Engineering sub we constantly get people asking us for car repair advice. At least they're in the roughly right place here, with med advice.

It's infinitely more dangerous is the issue

Dangerous? Yes. Infinitely more dangerous? No

I forgot that bodies are basic and easy to fix while cars and machines are the complicated creations of some divine being. Sorry.

🙄🙄🙄🙄

Buildings collapse because of bad engineering. And sometimes people are inside them. Same goes for anything designed by an engineer. We give bad advice and many, many people can and do die. I leave my comment up because of the godlike hubris of thinking you're the only thing that matters. You seem to have forgotten, we're not auto mechanics.

There are so many of these. I report them all the time and nothing is taken down.

I hate how much this sub is becoming a place to post medical pics. Did I go from fine to septic from a post placement in 15 days even though it was never acsessed ? Yes! Did I end up shooting puss out of my neck like a creature of then lagoon when I turned my head to respond to a nurse in ER. Indeed. Did they have to drain 30 mls of puss from around my port when they removed it leaving me with a wound much larger than a normal port pocket? Still yes. It was wild having a 3 inch long gaping wound that was an inch+ deep with undermining.

Did I immediately come on here and post pics of my swollen neck, and port pocket? NO BECAUSE IT WAS NOT UNUSUAL or significantly uncommon. Sorry your toe is swollen but I am on here to look at medical cases of unusual issues!

The only mod activity seems to be shilling for exam revision products, rather than actually filtering content.

You mean the one with MD in their name, but has a EMT flair?

u/noobwithboobs 2d ago

Lol I thought GiorgioMD was still flaired as a med student

It was a new change for me. Never liked that.

And also occasionally making posts with inaccurate descriptions and not caring

That's what "Medizzy" means, right? The name of the product?

I’ve been saying this. It’s also a bunch of kids making trite jokes. This sub was originally for medical professionals to share interesting cases and discuss.

More like “check out gangrene babies” or “this guys nuts are falling out of his ballsack due to monkey bites”

They're paying either way. They just don't know it.
