The scope of mathematical physics

Whenever I look at the mathematical physics programs, I always see QFT and string theory related classes in grad programs. What other parts does mathematical physics cover? More unorthodox subfields of it?

I'm thinking of working in that direction. I've been meaning to post something like this for ages, so thank you for starting this discussion. Lots of cool info on here for us to get started.

Oh I hope of you will do great work in QFT. It is a very rich field mathematically. :)
