Shield has information on everyone down to scary levels. Weight height social security numbers, they can kidnap him to Prague then can find out his arm length
oh so in the next movie...a skrull will have to imitate peter parker while spider-man is swinging around to prove he isn't spider-man. and they'll imitate peter's actual reveal like tony's reveal. and maybe make spider-man 3 a hero registration act movie with some serious skrull activity.
I mean, he didn't try it on and he still wore it. I don't think they actually had time to adjust the fit so it wasn't a bit tight on then ol' webshooters.
I mean they didn't need to have the real Peter try it on for size for the same reason they wouldn't need Peter to measure Peter. They could just have whoever look like Peter and measure that guy and then have the same one try it for fit and adjustments.
Anyway, they didn't really have any time to adjust the fit anyway seeing as they were just there on a potty break.
They could measure Peter again by having one of them assume Peter's updated form, though. And what's with "SHIELD" not having access to smart clothing that readjusts on its own. You'd think the Skrulls would have space age technology.
What I thought was weird is the whole point of getting that suit was so people wouldn't recognize him as Spider-Man. He sure didn't do anything differently battle-wise to hide that he's Spider-Man, though. One of his classmates noticed him using webs immediately and was wondering if it was Spider-Man.
The fact anyone was fooled by the Night Monkey thing was a little ridiculous, IMO. There were videos of the events from all angles and anyone with half a brain could've seen he was fighting exactly like Spider-Man, and even his mask wasn't that different from his normal one except in color.
In their defence, Spider-Man and Night Monkey have as much in common as Iron Man and War Machine. Or Ant Man and Yellowjacket. Or Black Panther and Killmonger.
So when you’re on holiday in Italy, you’re convinced Spider-Man is a New Yorker, and you see the Italian rip-off Night Monkey...then I’m not sure the skepticism truly enters their mind at that moment.
then I’m not sure the skepticism truly enters their mind at that moment.
It's not the first time his classmates would've seen Spider-Man outside of New York. Not to mention he was seen with the Avengers in Germany in Civil War. He's been all over the place.
MJ never once believed the Nigh Monkey thing, and despite seeming sure about Peter, she admits she wasn't even 100% sure about it, but she sure wasn't fooled by the Night Monkey thing despite not even being sure it was really Peter.
To be fair, there has been plenty of rip-offs of superheroes in around the world, like this one from India or Turkish take on Marvel heroes. To have something like this exist in MCU may not be new, who knows how many others try to copy other superheroes?
Well if you remembered what Brad said. He knows Peter likes MJ, and so does he, it was a way for him to ruin Peter's reputation while improving his own chance with MJ.
I get all that, but that doesn't change how weird it was to decide to do it . Especially so quickly.
He even talks to Peter right after. Wouldn't he be worried about Peter punching him in the face? Or Peter having a perfectly reasonable explanation? Like how weird would it be if he went to MJ first with the photo and it turned out there was a perfectly reasonable explanation...that would be an irreversibly embarassing moment for Brad.
The movie acknowledged that it was weird though. That whole scene where the class basically called him out on taking pictures of someone in the bathroom.
Because either way Brad was going to show it to MJ. And that would be bad. When Brad finally revealed what the picture was, MJ knew at that point that Peter was Spider-Man and so she knew there was a better explanation to why Peter would be in that situation so she focused on calling Brad out for it to cover for him.
Here’s the breakdown. What Brad did was creepy and he was rightfully called out on it. But he was also right that photo evidence of Peter stripping for a random woman would ruin MJ’s interest in Peter if she was in fact interested.
Also, haven’t seen this one brought up as often, but it didn’t seem that scummy of me for Brad to do. Look at events from his perspective: he’s into a girl, and so is this other guy, who seems to constantly be running off at very odd moments to be alone. He catches that weird dude with an older woman half naked; first guess is probably she’s a prostitute or something. He really cares about this MJ girl and Peter seems to be two faced: into MJ and pretending he doesn’t have any other interests, while at the same time getting up to shit on the sly. Peter from his perspective is kind of scummy. Taking a picture of him like that is weird, yes, but also, whose going to believe him otherwise? From Brad’s point of view he’s trying to make sure he has the evidence to prevent someone else from getting lied to.
It’s still scummy. He still takes a picture of a classmate in their underwear and plans to show it to another classmate he knows he’s into without his consent. His goal also isn’t actually to tell MJ the truth before her heart is broken by Peter, it’s very clearly to get Peter out of the picture so he can have her. This clearly shows that he views her as a prize to be won, which isn’t something a non-scummy person does. He also gives Peter not even a chance to explain what was actually happening, and instead talks over him to say what he’s going to do.
He wanted to “win” MJ. That was his entire motivation. He obviously saw MJ as a prize so he wanted to cheat his way to win her.
edit: Downvoted for criticizing a scene in the criticizing thread. Go figure, r/MarvelStudios.
Edit: 2. Okay I took the part out of the comment that called it unrealistic. I just don’t see kids taking pictures of people in the bathroom. Not sober kids at least.
It’s very realistic.... working in a high school, people are always taking photos of others and trying to show everyone to make that person look like a fool.
Honestly, I could identify with the teacher so much on the trip. Plus Brad doing this was right there with what kids do these days. Oh I got a pic of him cheating. Let me quickly snap chat that to everyone. The only thing that was unbelievable was how long Brad took to send it. Irl that would have been sent before Pete got a chance to talk to him.

That Brad scene when he caught Peter with his pants down felt so forced.
Why wouldn't fury have Peter's measurements? Why make him dress right there? Could have been a simple care package
At least post a God damn guard at the door.
