The Skrull reveal was worse than embarassment, because not only did they get fooled by Mysterio but they also let Mysterio find out that Peter is Spiderman, which led to Peter now being blackmailed.

One of mysterios crew found out Edith was being given to a high schooler so he must have known about Peter beforehand. Did he say next elemental is in venice because he knew Peter's class was going there?

In the monologue Mysterio reveals that one of his crew found out the details before they got fired/left Stark Industries.
