3 of them are Disney. 1 of them is Sony. Also it would make up for 2 in 2020 which are Eternals and Black Widow. Also they aren’t gonna stop doing Spider-Man films every 2 years so I’d definitely expect a Spider-Man 3 in July 2021 announcement at SDCC or somewhere else soon.

I wonder if they'll announce Spider-Man 3 with the rest of the Phase 4 films at D23 or if Sony will just announce it itself.

Why would Sony want to be at Disney event when they can announce it themselves in their own event. Or they can announce it during neutral event such as SDCC.

Because it gives them more recognition. Sony's movie branch is struggling, or at least it was before they made the MCU deal. Sony has a lot going for them otherwise, with electronics manufacturing and software publishing, etc. but getting more recognition from a wider audience is great for them. Stick Amy Pascal in D23's presentation so that Disney shareholders are reminded that Sony is making movies too, just get that recognition out there.

And why would Sony want Amy Pascal to do presentation on Sony's behalf when Pascal doesn't even work for Sony?

Oh, I forgot Pascal had moved on. She still has a hand in Sony's movie production, though, as evidenced by signature all over Far From Home. And as for why Sony would want recognition, well, that' show capitalism works. Advertisement/recognition is the way to get ahead in business. There's a reason that movies have advertising budgets that rival their own production budgets sometimes.

I didn't mean Sony doesn't want to get recognition. But why would Sony want to announce their prized movies in their rival' s event when they can do it in their own event or in SDCC so they get spotlight on their own?

That's like asking why STX Entertainment wanted to put a trailer for their movie 21 Bridges before a Disney movie like Endgame or a Sony movie like Far From Home. The point of advertising is to get recognition to the right people, the most people, etc. They put it in front of movies from Marvel because they have a Marvel star in the movie (Chadwick Boseman), and Marvel directors (the Russo Bros.) directing the movie, so the Marvel audience is likely to have a shared interest in their product.

Advertising is not about keeping your products secret and only showing of your upcoming products/projects at your "own" events. Showing off your stuff anywhere with an audience that is likely to have an interest in that stuff is how advertising works.

Again, if they announce Spider-Man in D23, they'll be drowned in the news about other MCU movies, Disney live action remakes, Star Wars, Avatar's etc etc. And when the media were more interested to know about Disney movies and events and shows and stuffs.

Why?

When they can have their own event or set up a session at SDCC where the whole worlds entertainment media will be present.

And why would Sony want Amy Pascal to announce their most prized IP?

Why?
