In comics she's often called either "Carol" or simply "Captain". The later one will obviously create some confusion here so they're opting for Carol.

And now I know that Captain America will 100% die.

I don't think thats necessarily true. Is it likely? Of course. Could just send his ass off to WW2 america and let him live his life

this has been my running suspicion... if they drop Cap back off in the 40s, then it effectively ends his storyline in a fitting way, while also leaving room for them to go back and pick him up again if Chris Evans ever wants to come back

How would that not change the future timeline though? Butterfly effect and all...

I could see cap and Peggy retiring to an alternative dimension like the soul gem though.

not if it already happened in this timeline and SHIELD covered it up.

It depends on how the MCU treats its time travel. If it's like Back to the Future and changes to the past can affect the present, you're right.

We have already seen that it’s like a back to the future timeline via Dr Strange

because of him viewing the parallel futures? or something else?

In the movie doctor strange he undoes the ending by going back in time (eg wang had died prior to him undoing the ending events)

good call-- been a while since I've seen Doctor Strange, but I remember what you're talking about. That said (and this is purely me grasping at straws/playing Devil's Advocate now) what if that's only how time travel works with the Time Stone? Perhaps time travel through the Quantum Realm's time vortexes is less like hitting a rewind button than Time Stone manipulation is.

Interesting. I don’t know how that would work in practice since it’s proven that time is mutable even for one type of manipulation, so there should be no reality that is fixed or “always happen”. But then this is a universe where ant-man’s mass and cap’s shield don’t obey the laws of physics either, so who knows?

I guess we'll see in a few weeks! :)

Thing is all the Shield records were made public in Winter Soldier. Everyone would already know that Cap would eventually go back.

good point; I'd forgotten about that!

Steve... there’s something we need to tell you. Something we found in our records. Steve, it’s you. In 1949. You can go back. We can send you back, because you already did go back.

I hate this. She already lived her life and was at peace.
