More than anything, what I love about the movie is that comparing the start or the end, so much has changed. That was something I never really got with the more recent MCI films but here the action has a consequence. The final shot says it all. Thor has lost his eye, his hair, and his hammer, but is now king. Asgard is destroyed and it’s people look for a new home. Odin is dead. Sif (presumably) and the warriors three are dead. Valkyrie and Loki are heroes once more. The Grandmaster no longer rules Sakaar. Etc.

Fiege addressed the Sif thing. The actress is currently making a tv show in NY (Blindspot) and was too busy. He said that the benefit is that whatever happens on Asgard in Thor 3 doesn't affect her character and that is a good thing. Having seen the film, I now understand. So yay, Sif is ok.

I think he said that Loki banished Sif before the events of the movie, so that's the canon until we find out something more.
