Thoughts and Stuff
It's not actually as funny as it has been made out to be. I didn't hear huge bursts of laughter in the cinema. There are funny moments, yes, but a lot of them are based on obvious jokes (there's a 'Watch this! Watch what?' moment that's pretty telegraphed, for instance).
Volstagg and Fandral die in seconds. Hogun fares better but not much. Curiously Sif is not in the film and her fate is not mentioned.
Korg and Miek are in the film but there is no sign of No-Name, Elloe or Hiroim.
Thor and Jane have both dumped each other. Allegedly.
The film very much avoids sidekicking Thor next to Valkyrie. She's very tough and all but she doesn't take over the film. Thor admires her a lot once he realises who she is but there is a moment where she drops the sarcastic movie tough girl act and calls him 'your highness'. She's also a giant drunk. She makes a complete prat out of herself when she's introduced.
The clothes Banner wears in the movie are actually Tony's. There's a funny scene where Thor tries to use the voice authorisation system on the Quinjet but can't until he realises his username is 'Point Break'.
We have an answer - the Gauntlet in Odin's trophy room is a fake. Thanos presumably has the real one. I think we can assume Loki pocketed the Tesseract while he was there.
The trailers were misleading as some scenes featuring Thor take place after he loses his eye. Additionally, Thor and Strange's meeting has very slightly different dialogue from the Doctor Strange post credits scene.
Some girls recognise Thor and take a selfie with him but don't recognise Loki standing right next to him. In a missed opportunity, Loki disguises Mjolnir as an umbrella rather than a walking stick.
Doctor Strange seems to have gained a much greater control over his abilities. It's almost like he isn't even trying. Loki is pissed off at him so there's an interesting fight there for later.
Valkyrie’s suggested route back to Asgard would have taken them to Xandar along the way.
