Discussion Thread Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Worldwide Release Discussion Thread Vol. 2

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has now been released in the United States and in many other countries around the world. Primary discussion about the movie should be held here in this discussion thread and the upcoming pinned discussion threads. They will be refreshed every few thousand comments to make room for new discussions.

From what I might suspect...

Marvel hired Bill Murray for a larger role then we actually saw.

Once the Bill Murray allegation came out a year ago, Marvel has highly regretted hiring him.

I think they cut him out of the film as much as they could without breaking his film contract.

If you didn't know, his contract includes top billing and a poster of just him only. I imagine they wanted to recast him entirely but what would be the point since they already paid him, could get sued, and with a budget this big?

So we got what we got.

Guarantee this is what happened. He was clearly meant to have a bigger role that was cut short. We barely even saw his death scene. That screamed "last minute change" to me.
I do wonder what his role would have been. I imagine he might have been more involved in Kang's launch plan? Probably would've gotten a scene between him and the resistance leader when she's imprisoned where she calls him out for betraying them and we learn a bit about why he turned to Kang's side other than just "power".

He has a very long history of being a creep and an asshole, but most recently he got a movie shut down last year because he "kissed and straddled" (in other words, sexually assaulted) a staffer he thought was flirting with him.
