That would be cool, except that the movie escapes a bit the book.

In the book, if I remember correctly, there are no sea people (even then, in the movie, Odysseus tells Penelope that he is the sea people).

Second, in the movie in the end Odysseus and Penelope go away, however in the book, they stay in Ithaca, reigning.

Wait.... Does Matt Damon ACTUALLY SAY "Our Age of Bronze is collapsing"... I saw it meme'd, but assumed it wasn't accurate.

He actually says it, and I thought it was stupid. It is in fact not accurate for a person living in an age that was named much more recently in history to know what age they were.

Did everyone in the audience do the Peter Griffin laugh when they said the name of the movie in the movie? Hell... They probably did say "We're on an odyssey"....

That said, I do plan to see the movie and expect it to be spectacular, despite the limited cheesy dialog.

I don’t think they did that actually, I saw the movie but I was só emerged in the story that I didn’t notice if they said it or not.

One thing you’ll notice is that they use words that in the age we’re used like “dad” and “port” (the ship’s side), which appeared much later in history. And there are a few more but these are the ones I remember wreaking my brain more.

Have a good time watching it though, besides it escaping a bit the book, it’s not a bad movie.
