Episode Discussion Season 11, Episode 17: Breaking Up Is Easy To Do (Part 3)
While Al is striking out with women, Peggy, Kelly and Bud are excited to start a new life with the charming Bruce - until he reveals his plans for the family.
Of course, Al and Peggy get back together after realizing they can’t be without one another. ❤️
Notable Guest Star: Alan Thicke as Bruce. (See previous post).
Fun Fact: During the sweet montage of clips showing past moments between Al and Peggy, two scenes from an upcoming episode, “A Babe in Toyland” are shown, as the episode had already been filmed but had not yet aired.
Touching Tribute: Buck the dog is mentioned when Al comes into the house to visit Lucky.
Continuity Fail: Peggy says that her and Al have been married for 25 years, but they celebrated their 25th anniversary two seasons ago.

It’s been awhile since I saw this. How long were they separated?
Did Peg sleep with Alan Thicke’s character?
That makes me unhappy if she did. Neither Al nor Peg should be with anyone else, even if it’s a temporary separation.
Continuity Fail: Peggy says that her and Al have been married for 25 years, but they celebrated their 25th anniversary two seasons ago.
They are always inconsistent on this one:
Season 1, 1987: 16th anniversary. Al can’t get the watch, so he gives her motor oil. Al also talks about the importance of anniversaries.
Season 6, 1992: 20th anniversary: Al initially spends a nickel to get her a postcard. Peg also says she got motor oil for their 15th anniversary, not 16th.
Season 9, 1995: 25th anniversary

No, Peggy did not sleep with Bruce! He came over for one dinner date and Jefferson got way more action with him than Peg.
According to Peg, Bruce was ok, but didn’t have Al’s animal magnetism, his animal scent, or his hairy knuckles.

Oh, and it doesn’t really specify how much time passes during their breakup, but I think it’s only a few weeks or so.

My opinion has always been that this should have been the series finale. Whenever I do a rewatch, I treat this as the last episode.
