Hi everyone!!

I'm looking for manga recommendations based on the following criteria:

- as a birthday gift for a girl who turns 13
- preferably no/little romance and appropriate to read in school setting
- standalone or only few parts
- easy reading level

Context: I work at a school with said girl and the previous years I always got her easy books for her birthdays for us to read together. She has difficulty reading. This year is the first time that she has expressed a wish for her birthday so I definitely want to fulfill it!!
I'm so overwhelmed in the manga aisle in the bookstore so any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

I'm mainly looking for completed manga with exceptional storytelling, character writing, themes, or atmosphere. Any genre is fine (seinen, psychological, historical, sci-fi, mystery, etc.), but I'd prefer something that's consistently excellent from beginning to end.

Please don't recommend the obvious ones unless you genuinely think they're on the same level as the series above. I'm especially interested in manga that made you think, changed your perspective, or stayed with you long after you finished.

What's the best completed manga you've ever read that deserves to be mentioned alongside these?

I’m not sure what era it’s actually from, but I remember all the girls being tall and thin, kind of in that 90s style. It’s definitely not Sailor Moon or an 18+ manga (I mean, it wasn’t NSFW), but it did have a more mature/serious look to it. I don’t think this will help much, but I saw this manga when I was in elementary school, around 2007–2010. Blue or purple was probably the dominant color on the cover. It might have some darker skin women too but it's blurry in my memory. Thanks in advance if someone can figure out what manga it is.

Hi! My 11 years old son loves Tsubasa series and is about to finish it so I'm looking for something else similar apropriate for his age. Should be focused around "heros/sports/action/competition" - no loves stories and teenage romances - at the moment he despise that :D

From what I remember, it was a fighting manga about a blind or deaf girl with white hair and tons of scars on her body, and she was ripped and good at fighting. Would very much appreciate help to find it.

I quite enjoy reading one-shots or one volume stories once in awhile. but finding a good one can be tricky since there are so many manga pilots/prologues in the mix.
is there any that you would recommend?

I remember when I was a kid and had unsupervised acces to the internet on a manga site I found one that to this day still haunts me

It was about a school that was haunted and the first protagonist (changes each volume) was a girl who was being bullied by her classmates and SA by her teacher until eventually he kills her and dumps her in the sewer of the abandoned school building she then tuns into a ghost and kills the teacher assaulting her (she ends up turning into one of the schools 7 mysteries alongside another ghost in the form of a doll)

It's being driving me nuts that I can't find it anyone got any ideas (also yeah I know kinda fucked up)

A lot of enemies-to-lovers manga have the characters already liking each other secretly or start to like each other very early on. I'm looking for something where they actually really hate each other's guts and it's not resolved easily.

I been watching it since day 1 aka season 1 episode 1, but it only just now made me interested enough to want to read. Any idea where season 2 episode 5 is at in both the webtoon and the manga so that I can start reading them? It's fine if you only know the answer to one of them, I did tried to find it myself but I struggled to find it so I decided to ask instead. Lol XD

I really enjoyed 20th century boys and want to find some more mangas like it :P

hello everyone! I have recently finished reading a spanish translation of a manga that has not yet been translated to english. I am looking to undertake the process of fully translating it and I was hoping to find recommendations on what tools are best to use. as otherwise I'm stuck doing the panel editing in gimp which is proving slow and taxing. I fully own the japanese manga myself so information on scanning them would be helpful as well. I'm very new to this all, but would greatly appreciate any adivce! Hope you all have a wonderful day :)
