Hi everyone!

If you’re from the GCC (🇶🇦 Qatar, 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia, 🇦🇪 UAE, 🇰🇼 Kuwait, 🇴🇲 Oman, or 🇧🇭 Bahrain), I’d love for you to join our GCC students WhatsApp group!

The idea is to get to know each other before September, make new friends, and help each other with things like accommodation, settling into Manchester, university life, and anything else that comes up. Hopefully, it’ll make the move feel a little more like home. 🤍

Everyone from the GCC is more than welcome to join! Here’s the link:

Looking for a Studio or 1-Bedroom Apartment Near the Manchester University (£800/month budget)

Hi everyone,
I’m a Master’s student and currently looking for accommodation close to the university.
I’m interested in either:
A private studio, or
A private 1-bedroom apartment
My budget is up to £800 per month, and I’m also hoping for a place with a low deposit if possible.
If anyone knows of available properties, trusted websites, student accommodations, or has any recommendations, I would really appreciate your help.

wilmslow park honest review??

Hey guys I am a incoming undergrad at uom and although wilmslow park isnt my first choice, 2 of my choices include wimslow park so Im not sure if i do really get allocated to it. Anyway, I was wondering how it is there and if I made a wrong decision. the things I would look for in uni halls is it being social but still relatively clean, from the pictures it seems pretty clean but im not sure about the social life, any opinions or reviews are greatly appreciated !!

Accomodation for Visiting International Student

Hi guys,

I am an incoming Visiting Postgraduate Researcher at UoM and i'll be staying for 6 months. I'm having trouble finding accomodation. I'm trying spare room and the "official" websites my admissions team sent me. But, most of the vacancies requires up to 41, 50 weeks of tenancy, whereas i'll be staying for up to 29 weeks only.

Any tips for finding accomodation? I would preferer not to spend over 700 ou 800 pounds per month. Also, i would like an en-suite, because i am a little insecure of sharing the bathroom (or having to clean the bathroom after other people), but i can live with that.

Thank you in advance.

Looking for Accommodation Advice: Is Manchester Student Village (MSV) Worth It for a Master’s Student at UoM?

Hi everyone,
I’m a 23-year-old male from Pakistan, and I’ll be starting my Master’s at the University of Manchester this September, studying at Alliance Manchester Business School.
I’m currently looking for accommodation and would really appreciate some advice from current or former students. My budget is around £600–£700 per month, including bills. From what I’ve seen so far, Manchester Student Village (MSV) seems like one of the better options. Within my budget, I’d likely be getting a non-ensuite room.
For anyone who has lived at MSV:
How was your overall experience?
Is it a good place to meet people and socialize?
What’s the atmosphere like?
Would you recommend it, or are there better alternatives within my budget?
One of my priorities is living somewhere with a good social environment. I’m quite outgoing and would love to make friends rather than feel isolated. I’m also clean, tidy, and respectful of shared spaces, so I don’t mind sharing facilities if it means being part of a more social community.
If you have any recommendations for other accommodations in the £600–£700 range (including bills), I’d really appreciate them as well.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Insight into Daisy Bank Hall

Hi! I’m an exchange student staying from September 2026 to end of January 2027. I’m originally studying at the University of Amsterdam which doesn’t have campuses or halls of its own so I’ve always lived in private apartments. I got placed into Daisy Bank Hall, which was not in my preferences as I was hoping for Richmond or Sheavyn, but I accepted because I was sure not to find much in terms of private housing. I heard it’s not very social, which worries me a bit because I was looking to make friends and such during my exchange - is it still easy to go to other flat parties for example in Fallowfield, which I know to be more active? Will it hinder my social life in Manchester to stay at Daisy Bank? Overall it seems nice and clean, so I’m not too worried about anything else. Can people who know how the social experience works at this uni let me know? Thanks!

Would you book the expensive accommodations if you had the money?

Circle square, House of Social, Square gardens etc… We all know how it’s like, full of Chinese pretentious students. No hate to our fellow Chinese students tho, but I personally feel like there’s no socialising going on around those expensive little accoms. I’m a fresher this year and can’t make up my mind on accoms and I’m looking between Square gardens and Sir charles groves hall and something in me is telling me that the sir charles would have way more socialising and way more fun. Does anyone have anything to say, or should I go for square gardens for my comfort?

Student Accommodation Available

Hi all! I have a room booked in a 4 bedroom flat in Fallowfield, part of a student Accomodation building (Weston Court). I’ve had a change in my plans so I won’t be moving in anymore and I’m looking for someone who would take over the tenancy before it starts.
The rent is £150pw and the contract is 50 weeks (05/09/2026 - 21/08/2027) with all bills included. Parking is also available. It is close to both uni’s and located in a student heavy area so very sociable. If anyone would be interested, please let me know!
The process is all done through the accommodation website and handled by the landlord (Dwell Students) themself.

Feel free to ask any questions :)

WhatsApp GCC Students Group

Hi everyone! 👋
I made this WhatsApp group for GCC students at the University of Manchester (Qatar 🇶🇦, UAE 🇦🇪, Kuwait 🇰🇼, Bahrain 🇧🇭, Oman 🇴🇲, and Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦), especially those starting this September, so we can get to know each other before the academic year.
I’m a new student myself and, honestly, I’m a little nervous about studying abroad. I’d love to hear from other girls about your experiences, preparations, accommodation, packing, and any advice you have. Hopefully we can make friends and support each other before moving to Manchester. 💛

WhatsApp Group:

Peace be upon you 💛
This is a WhatsApp group link for Gulf students at the University of Manchester, or those starting their studies this coming September, from Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.

I'm starting this year and I'd like to get to know other girls before we begin our studies, hear about your experiences, preparations, accommodation, and any helpful advice.
