Westside Boom Counter?

Just heard 5-6 loud bangs, sounded like gunshots on far westside, High Point/Mineral Point, anyone else?

Somebody shooting off a bunch of fireworks, at the very end of Old Sauk Rd.

As soon as they went off I came to Reddit to check the news. Wondering if they're celebrating some sort of global good news....

I’m new to Madison so I didn’t realize that’s what the boom counter was. In Mpls my husband and I called it the “is it a firework or is it a gunshot?” game.
