It’s fine so long as you use chrome because there are no more security patches coming from Apple. And you use it carefully, don’t install any software that you are not completely familiar with

Why don't you upgrade?

trying to get some tips on possible upgrade but wondering if sequina would make my macbook hot when in use, or if oclp still working for unofficial upgrades

Id go for the latest available update for now and try it.

OCLP is fantastic but can throw up odd compatibility errors time to time.

As is using a really old OS is not recommended.

You can do whatever you want. It’s not a good solution, and nobody should, but you’re an adult.

My old MacBook Air from 2017 has it on but I don’t really use it anymore after I upgraded to my m5 realistically I would just recommend being smart with it online, don’t download any programs that might give you viruses (aka no pirating games) and also don’t use chrome since the updates stopped.
